Authors Thomas Mayor and Rosie Smiler read their children's book to Gurindji children at Kalkarindji school.

The book tells the story of the courageous Aboriginal workers, who were treated like slaves, who walked off Wave Hill Cattle station for equal pay and land rights. The story spans from colonization to the present day.

Rosie Smiler is a granddaughter of Vincent Lingiari, and Thomas Mayor is the author of several other books published by Hardie Grant Publishing. The illustrator is Samantha Campbell.

Freedom Day is available in all good bookstores.
