Quarter after ten at Resurrection Hall…couples
twirling at the Harvest Dance to welcome the fall
She stepped out just to catch a breath of evening air
When her fella came to join her they could find her nowhere

Years went creeping by and not a hide nor a hair
Her fella moved to Piper, got a new lady there
Some kids were skipping stones down at the quarry in town
when they saw a woman dancing in a soiled ball gown

Well, Billy Martin working on his barren well
They say that something spooked him & downward he fell
They found him lying lifeless in an inch of mud
By a ball dress on a skeleton all soaked in blood
