Guwahati, August 30, 2024: In a controversial move, the Assam government, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has decided to end the two-hour Nazam break observed every Friday at the state assembly.

This practice, which lasted from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, has been in place since the time of Sayed Sadullah in 1946.
