One of the big issues when it comes to New York City is the lack of public transportation....subway service in particular. Hurricane Sandy knocked out pretty much the entire NYC Subway System due to the power loss and the immense flooding.

One of the major backlashes of this storm was not only the lack of public transportation, but also the lack of power in parts of Manhattan. Subway service was crippled and Shuttle Buses were replacing subway service along different sections.

Today, there were Shuttle Buses running up 3rd Avenue and down Lexington Avenue. Some shuttle buses were headed to Hewes Street via the Williamsburg Bridge while others were headed to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center via the Manhattan Bridge. 330 buses were reserved for this gigantic shuttle operation.

As you can see here, Shuttle Buses were also operating in the blackout areas serving all the customers that have to go into Brooklyn. The mass amounts of people that were waiting for the buses were incredible. I've never seen anything like this in my entire life. You'll see a lot of different buses in this 3 part set a this location picking up passengers and being directed by the NYPD to stop where they can stop.

There will be many post Hurricane Sandy videos in both transit and non-transit situations uploaded on my main account and on my secondary account, Caitsith810. Be sure to subscribe and stay tuned
