Earlier, it was believed that the domination of the left or right portion of the body is dependent on which hemisphere of our brain is stronger out of the two.
Now as our left brain is responsible for the movement in the right portion of the body and vice-versa. So according to this ideology, if our left hemisphere is stronger, we will be right-handed, and if the right hemisphere is stronger, the person will be left-handed.
But according to various research projects, 70% of left-handed people use their left brain like right-handers. So now who makes this decision that whether you will be right-handed or left?
Research says that there are a total of 4 loci, i.e., gene points, that decide whether a person will be right-handed or left-handed.
Genetically, if you receive the D gene from both of your parents, you will be right-handed.
However, getting the C gene from one and the D gene from the other will reduce your chances of being right-handed.
But if you received the C gene from both of your parents, there will be a 50% chance of being left-handed and the same of being right-handed.
