'Bombs' found as New Orleans terrorist 'hellbent on carnage' shot dead after NYE crowd attack

A suspected terrorist "hellbent on creating carnage" killed ten people after ramming them with his truck in New Orleans.
The city's famed Bourbon Street became a bloodbath as the man ploughed his white vehicle into crowds celebrating the New Year before opening fire.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell says the city has been impacted by a "terrorist attack" and urged residents to avoid the area.

The suspect drove his pick-up truck down Bourbon Street "at a very fast pace" and was "trying to run over as many people as he possibly could", police superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said.
