Stonehenge, Bristol & Bath Family Adventure (Ep 5)

Our family went on a month-long adventure in the United Kingdom. https://createplaytravel.com/ After exploring London for 4 days, we rented a car and headed to Bristol. We reserved a house through Home Exchange on a quiet street, and set out to explore the nearby towns of Bristol and Bath. We even stopped by Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England on the way!

In Bristol, we explored the town, visited a local park, and walked up to Cabot Tower. Cabot Tower sits on Brandon Hill, which is the oldest park in Bristol. This 105 foot tower was built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot's notable voyage from Bristol to North America four hundred years before.

One day while exploring Bath, we took the kids to see the Roman Baths. Evidently, a temple site was built in 60-70 AD and the current buildings near the baths date from the 19th century. Sourced from natural hot springs, the Roman baths were used by the Romans until the 5th Century AD.

We also took the kids on a tour inside the Bath Abbey. I thought it was really cool to see some of the inscriptions honoring people who lived in the 1700s and 1800s. Of course, inside we also saw a memorial honoring Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

I thought it was really interesting to see Stonehenge in person, and some of the local history in both Bristol and Bath. Next, our family is heading to Wales, followed by Scotland, where we will stay in Edinburgh.
