Starting out just like any other great day, I need my coffee. Novi provides a number of great coffee shops, but my go to is No.VI Coffee and Tea located at Grand River & Beck. A great play on words and even better cup of joe, No.VI Coffee is a fantastic place to gather or get some work done. Much like myself they really value their employees, which has earned my business anytime I’m in the area. Other great places to visit for your caffeine boost are O’Cafe at 10 Mile & Meadowbrook and Sugah Please! Coffee House just outside of 12 Oaks Mall.

Novi is truly a great place to live with very low crime, excellent schools and a ton of things to do in the area. There are numerous wonderful neighborhoods to call home, but today I want to take a look at Island Lake of Novi. This 170 acre no wake lake is surrounded by 901 acres of property made up of 9 separate communities & associations full of gorgeous homes who all share the same clubhouse, fitness center and amenities. Another great feature of Island Lake is they host an annual Triathlon and Duathlon, which after a 2 year hiatus due to COVID, is returning in 2022. After a good cup of coffee and a quick drive, I’m definitely ready for an amazing breakfast to jumpstart my day. For that, I can’t recommend the Breakfast Club of Novi high enough. I’ve never had a meal I didn’t love from here and I’m continuously finding new favorites that keep me coming back for more. Breakfast Club is locally owned and a local favorite, but the original location was opened by Penny White in Clawson back in 1999. Her first day open she served 12 guests. The second day, 106. Word quickly spread of the high quality food and amazing service. Fast forward to today, there are 8 locations with 5 of those being partially owned by previous employees. Guys, stop in here for breakfast when you are nearby. You’ll thank me later. And if you make it over to the 10 Mile & Haggerty area, I definitely recommend Moe’s on 10 for a quality breakfast, with a delicious buffet and friendly service.

I wouldn’t recommend this next stop after a heavy breakfast, but if you need a bit of an adrenaline rush, iFly in Novi may be right up your alley. Don your jumpsuit and get ready to defy gravity! With about a dozen locations across the country, this particular iFly is said to be the most technologically advanced iFly around and national competitions will soon be held at this location. As of the time of this video being released they are not yet open for business, but they are booking flights for future visits. If you prefer to keep both feet on the ground but need a bit of excitement then I would suggest a trip to BATL Axe of Novi at Fountain Walk! Fun for all ages - I’m kidding, please don’t take your kids axe throwing! BATL (Backyard Axe Throwing League) is exactly what it sounds like and did in fact begin in a backyard in Canada back in 2006. 15 years later, BATL Axe is a popular international business that is a perfect place to visit for a fun night out with friends and to sharpen your competitive edge. Good for all levels of experience, coaches are available to help you learn the ropes, as well as leagues that run year round. This location can host groups ranging from 2-135 people and booking ahead of time is recommended. Food and drinks are also available and delivered directly to your lane, with food also recommended to be ordered at least 1 day in advance.
