The Katsina State Government has dismissed reports alleging plans to release some suspected bandits earlier arrested by security agencies.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, made the clarification while reacting to claims that the government intended to release about seventy suspects arrested in connection with banditry and kidnapping activities.

According to the commissioner, the reports are false and misleading, reiterating the government’s commitment to security, justice, and the rule of law. He emphasized that all suspects arrested in connection with criminal activities will be properly investigated and prosecuted in line with legal procedures.

The clarification comes amid heightened public concern over security challenges in the state, as the government reassures residents of its resolve to protect lives and property.
