Today, I'm up at another tunnel car wash, and this time it's a first for the channel, I'm up at a Tommy's Express Car Wash in San Antonio TX (along US-281).

Tommy's Express started life in 1969 as Quality Car Wash as the first tunnel wash with a dual rollover system in Holland Michigan, and later on in 1990 partnered with the Automatic Vehicle Wash brand (AVW for short), launched their own line of wash equipment in 2001 and developed a dual belt conveyor the next year, and the Tommy's Express Wash name was finally formed in 2016 and rapidly started expanding all over the US. This site was built in 2018 and was one of the first of 6 locations to be built following the name change and uses their own in-house Tommy equipment with dual belt conveyor.

I bought the top dollar Works wash package which comes out to $24 at the time of making this video, and wash quality for this I would rate this a 9/10, the bug prep was nicely applied, the opening presoak applied excellently along with what looks to be the tri-foam application that gave just as great of a coating on top of the already great application of presoak, the wheel blasters did good, the first set of wrap around brushes profiled great, the first curtain mitter set along with the bottom mount wheel scrubbers did good, the 2nd wrap around brush set profiled great, the lava wax coating was pretty good, the 2nd curtain mitter set and bottom mount wheel scrubbers did great, the 3rd set of wrap around brushes profiled nicely just like the others, and the rinse arches for surface protection and spot free rinse cycles did a great job in getting all the soap off, and lastly the dryers consisting of 6 rows of AVW designed dryers giving a total of 19 dryers (that originally had red housings, but all have been replaced with black housings) complete with side mounted Drytex side hugger brushes (though I'm not too sure what the science behind these are), all of which give an excellent drying performance.
