The Philippine's longest and tallest Bridge is now open for motorists. The artistically designed major infrastructure project, and the newest iconic landmark of Metro Cebu, the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway is now open to the motoring public. The newly completed iconic toll bridge will be the 3rd bridge that link Cebu City mainland, to Cordova in Mactan Island. It has a span of 8.9 kilometers, making it the longest, and tallest constructed bridge in the Philippines.

The 27-meter-wide bridge is meant to serve as an alternate route serving the Mactan Cebu International Airport, serving at least 50,000 vehicles daily. And has a design speed of 80-90 kilometers per hour. The 390-meter-long main span of the CC-Lex will be cable-stayed and will be supported by 145-meter-high twin tower pylons. The design of the pylons was inspired by the historic Magellan's Cross. The main span will have a 51 meters navigation clearance, which allows ships to traverse the bridge.

Inaugurated last April 27 in ceremonies led by President Rodrigo Duterte, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation Chairman, Manuel Pangilinan.

The expressway is a project of the CCLEC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the MPTC, in partnership with the Municipality of Cordova and the City of Cebu. It is seen to not only ease traffic congestion in the metro but also spark socio-economic development in the province.
