Storches Cavort in Alabama -Flying with Mike

On my way to Sun N Fun 24 I stopped in to see my friend Mike in Alabama. It was a perfect halfway stop and since I got a late start it made for a great time to spend the night and have some fun! He owns Slepcev Storch #1. It is the original kit imported into the US. Upon looking it over, it is considerably different than mine in some areas, but overall very similar. Most of the differences make it lighter than mine. The guy who built mine put quite a lot of finishing touches on it to make it "look great" inside. Of course, those touches don't do anything for it's flying characteristics, but it is awesome inside the cockpit. Mike's is bare bones basic and considerably lighter. On this flight, I had just landed and still had all my camping gear and stuff for a week at Sun N Fun loaded up in my plane so I was real heavy compared to him. He did out perform me a little, but not much. Overall, this was a great fun flight with and awesome buddy. Thanks Mike for the place to stay, breakfast and fuel! Yee Haww!
