Full route visual (timelapse) of the X1 bus route from Wantage (Market Place) to Oxford (Headington, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre) via Grove, East Hanney, Marcham, Abingdon and Oxford City Centre (St Aldates).

At the time of the filming, this route was run by Thames Travel as part of the Connector series of routes (which also included the 33, 98, 99A/99C, X2, X32 and X36). This route was introduced on the 2nd of January 2022 (02/01/2022). Previously, this route was run by Stagecoach in Oxfordshire as the Gold S8 (initially started as the 30!), and did not run beyond Oxford City Centre to Headington. However, Thames Travel running the X1 (and the extension to Headington) did not last long. Since the 4th of September 2022 (04/09/2022), the X1 is now run by Oxford Bus Company (as part of the city series of routes, which I don't understand why because this is not a city route at all, extending way beyond to various towns and villages in South Oxfordshire!), and has been cut back to run to Oxford City Centre.

My opinion: 7/10. Not the most exciting route but still quite nice, Wantage and Abingdon are really nice market towns, there's some lovely villages en route too (particularly East Hanney!) and of course let's not forget the beauty of Oxford City!

After Abingdon, it started to get completely dark, so I resorted to using my X3, U1 and U5 videos in order to complete the remaining parts of the route.
