Of all the luthiers associated with the great Julian Bream, David Rubio both commands significance and represents far and away the most approachable instruments price wise. I don't think I am alone in regarding 20th Century Guitar as Bream's most important album. And it was his 1965 Rubio that he used to record it.

In the mid 1960's Rubio worked in New York City and these instruments are highly regarded among his oeuvre as his New York era. This instrument from 1969 was made by him in England for a client in NYC whose beloved Rubio had been stolen.

I don't know how the previous Rubio stacked up but for me, this is singularly the greatest Rubio I have ever encountered. It is gloriously beautiful sounding, huge volume and response with incredible piano like evenness of response. It is an absolute monster and angel at the same time. I have known this guitar since the 1990's and am most delighted to offer it for sale. While at the same time wishing I could keep it for myself.
