Christine is another artist who has supported Heallreaf since its inception. Although she has no formal training as a tapestry weaver she has studied and taught art and design for many years. Tapestry appeals to her because she is fascinated by the unique character of medium, structure and image are integrated in the final piece which presents challenged and opportunities to the skillful weaver.

Much of the work she has exhibited in the Heallreaf exhibitions has reflected her interest in environmental issues and how media reporting can affect our responses to this and any other crisis.

Christine is a weaver who does a lot of drawing to create her images and her skillful draftsmanship shows through, her work starts with coloured drawings, and she selects areas of those drawings to develop into a tapestry.
This tapestry in Heallreaf 4 was conceived in such a way, during the Covid lock down Christine embarked on a series of spontaneous drawings, without any plan or expectation of outcome.
