An ice storm and freezing weather are moving in this weekend, so today we’re getting ready for whatever comes our way.

We prep the sawmill, fuel up generators, fill gas cans, and get the bobcat and tractor ready. We take you along for a full day cutting and splitting firewood, wrapping pipes and water spigots, and turning on heat lamps under the house to protect everything from freezing.

Bonnie heads out for last-minute grocery supplies while I stay back and film the day as we prepare for this ice storm and talk through what we’re doing and why. We also want to remind everyone to check on neighbors, friends, and anyone who might need help during severe winter weather.
