Building a Vitrine Train Display for ROLL-IN / ROLL-OUT operation

In this video we´re builing a vitrine wall display with de-attachable shelfs which allows for easy ROLL-IN and ROLL-OUT of entire model trains on your Model Railroad. The presented method is modular, which means the size of the display and thereby the length and quantity of the trains can be adopted to your own needs.

This Vitrine Display can be used in conjunction with the Martinstown layout to allow for train storage and expanded freight- and passenger operations.

Total build time is about 8 hours.
Total cost about €60.

Display Frame material:
Spruce 15x56mm
-Top, Bottom, Fixed shelfs: 601mm long
-Sides: 333mm long

Display removable shelfs:
Spruce 8x43mm
-All: 600mm long

Poly Carbonate Clear Plastic sheets:
Front glass: 90 x 600mm
Rear glass: 85 x 600mm

Screws:
• Frame assembly: 25 x 3,5mm recessed
• Pull-out knobs: 25 x 2,5mm

PVA-glue (Cola Blanca / Ponal / Elmer constr)
Double sided transparent adhesive tape.
Fast set glue (Cyano Acrylat).
Acryllic paint (Black).

Acryllic varnish hi gloss.
