Stuffed Pointed Gourd is an age old Bengali delicacy recipe. Some just use the mixture of prawn fish . Which carries a unique taste. Potoler dorma is a Bengali style most popular recipe for non vegetarian or stuffed pointed gourd recipe. Potoler Dorma stuffing can be made with prawn and simple spices. That stuffed pointed gourd is shallow fried in oil and then cooked in a gravy and potoler dorma is ready for plating. Simply serve this stuffed parwal with steamed rice. Potoler Dorma is known as an authentic Bengali style dish but this dish not originated in Bengal. It is an Armenian (Turkish) dish Dorma. The only difference between these two recipes is, in Armenian dorma, stuffing is wrapped in grape leaves and in Bengali dolma potol ( pointed gourd) is used for stuffing.

Ingredients

•For Stuffed Pointed Gourd
10-12 Potol (pointed gourd)
300 gms medium sized prawns
Medium sized half Coconut
2 tbsp Mustard Seeds
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Sugar
4-5 Green Chillies
1tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tbsp Mustard oil
Oil for fry

•For the Paste
25 gm Cashew
25 gm Raisins
10-15 Almond
½ cup Milk

•For Gravy
Oil
½ tsp Cumin seeds
2 medium sized chopped onion
Salt to taste
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
Prepared Paste
½ tsp Sugar
4 Green Chillies
½ tsp Ghee
