24 hours later...another Song from the Ceiling! This is a song I have been wanting to cover in some way since early 2020, and after performing it live at a gig or two since then, I've finally found the opportunity to make a full production out of it (with live, recorded-in-the-room-and-not-midi drums!). Enjoy!


Background:
In 1984, Tatsuro Yamashita (one of Japan's leading pop artists at the time, enduring even today) recorded this song as part of his soundtrack for the surf movie Big Wave. Side B was entirely made up of covers of Beach Boys and Brian Wilson productions, while Side A was a compilation of Yamashita's own tracks that fit the same style. This track was one of three brand-new compositions for the album, and remains a staple of the now-viral 'city pop' genre.
