Build overview and flight of a 95g (3.35 oz) version of the SpeedsterDEN "Wiesel" in very little wind. RC models in Australia under 100g are exempt from the rule that bans flying within 5.5km of airports.

Hotwired from SL-grade (13kg per m³) expanded polystyrene (EPS) from All Axis (http://www.allaxis.com.au/) using separate root and tip templates. Wingspan is 900mm. Root chord is 350mm including 40mm elevon. Tip chord is 185mm including 30mm elevon. The front tip is set back 100mm from the root. One winghalf weights 26g.

Winghalves glued using polyurethane glue. Leading edge and ailerons hinges are clear packing tape. Pushrods are 1.0mm carbon fibre rod with garden wire attached with heat shrink tube and CA glue. Fin is 1mm balsa with tape around the tabs that slot into the wings. The "bowsprit" is a 6x1mm carbon fibre bar extending 107mm in front of the nose and taped to the wing.

Center of gravity (CG) at 95mm from the front. Wingloading is less than 4g/dm2.

Elevator throws: 8mm up, 8mm down.
Aileron throws : 10mm up, 10mm down.
