On May 1st, 2020, Mr. Zhang, a diver from Guangxi Guigang, tragically lost his life while diving in an unexplored karst water pool in Wuming District, Nanning. The surface of the water pool was calm, but the underwater terrain was complex. The maximum open water area was only 5 meters deep, and there was a narrow passage leading to the underground cave at the edge, with no safety facilities or warnings.
On that day, Zhang went diving with the club. Due to poor visibility underwater, he ventured deep into the cave alone. At a 30-meter fork, he chose the left passage and descended to a 40-meter platform before turning back. However, he found that his companion had already left. Later, he went deeper again, and the people on the shore discovered his disappearance and called the police.
After multiple rounds of search efforts, the rescue team discovered Zhang's body at a depth of 55 meters on the next day. The diving computer records showed that Zhang repeatedly swam up and down in the cave within the last 12 minutes, clearly getting lost. 27 minutes after entering the water, he ran out of air tank and fell from a depth of 45 meters to 58.4 meters, getting stuck against the rock wall and ultimately died tragically.#adventure
