Feminism brought advances in equal rights, anti-discrimination, sexual harassment laws, and Woke Parenting. Yet, women are victimized, and the battle for self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence continues.

In a burning bush moment, Abby, a couple’s therapist, found her self-worth after being arrested for domestic violence. She believes women act out an internal, unconscious belief in their unworthiness as a result of conditioning. By combining social justice with an inward gaze, women can overcome the habitual emotions which cause them to self-betray. The next wave of feminism begins with one, simple question. Abby Havermann is a transformation junkie, authenticity enthusiast, and life-long seeker of truth and social justice. Her longing to discuss elephants in living rooms led to a career in psychotherapy, where she created a shame-evaporating space for people to hear their otherwise bullied intuitions.

Now a dynamic coach, speaker, writer, and trainer dedicated to facilitating sustainable change, Abby combines her neuroscience study, teaching people how to re-wire their brains, adapt, and transcend prior limitations.

Abby weaves warmth, wit, and vulnerability into her work with individuals and organizations. She’s a best-selling contributor to The Beauty of Authenticity, featured in Letters to Me, a contributor to Kiplinger magazine, and is currently working on her memoir, House of Cards. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
