platform in Warner Robbins, Georgia,
i. for this live recording. These very
popular gospel artists from the Great
s Smoky Mountains hold a lofty posi-
| tion in the hearts of gospel fans by the
thousands.
A The Inspirations are always a big at-
traction wherever they appear in
*4 concert. When they sing the first notes
of TOURING THAT CITY and WHEN I
WAKE UP (to sleep no more) they,
without fail, receive tumultuous
applause. It is only natural to expect
these two great songs to be the lead
off songs on this album recorded live
• in Warner Robbins.
These congenial, smiling young men
are superstars in gospel music. They
present sincerity in every appear-
ance; they are truly dedicated to
gospel music. These are Christians
who pray for and experience God’s
peace and direction for their lives
daily. They are true brothers in Christ,
not only traveling and singing the
gospel but living it daily. The Cross of
Calvary has become a cathedral for
these consecrated Christians.
Martin Cook, their pianist, teacher
and manager, is justifiably proud of
these young Americans who, for
twelve years, have dedicated their
lives and talents to God and His mes-
sage. Every appearance, whether in
concert, in a church service or on a
television program, is a Christian wit-
ness, always proceeded by group
prayer.
The piercingly white spotlight picks
Archie Watkins out of the blackness
on the platform in a concert where
he is beginning to sing AMAZING
GRACE and not a disturbing sound is
heard from the thousands listening to
his a capella performance. The hush
of the crowd adds to the impact of
this imposing number and when Troy
Burns, Eddie Deitz and Mike Holcomb
join him, it is almost breathtaking in
its beauty.
Not only are The Inspirations highly
respected and loved by gospel fans,

about. Dale Jones, playing steel
guitar, Roger Fortner on lead guitar,
C.D. Burns playing rhythm guitar are
joined by Jack Laws who plays bass
