removed cotter pin, removed nut. heated splined hub with torch. used 5lb splitting wedges and 2x6 blocs of wood for spacers, I was able to get a good amount of lifting pressure. I installed the stump hopper nut about 3/4 of the way. Using a socket and a hammer i was able to apply enough shock that the sprung pressure from the 2x6's and splitting wedges popped the hopper plate free!
