Save Presets in the Kernom Ridge with Hotone Ampero Control (MIDI)

Описание к видео Save Presets in the Kernom Ridge with Hotone Ampero Control (MIDI)

An untechnical tutorial showing how to use the Hotone Ampero Controller MIDI foot pedal to program up to 128 presets in The Kernom Ridge overdrive pedal.

UPDATE: You can use Control Change (CC) for individual parameters on the pedal. but you can only use Program Change (CC) for presets.
CABLE NOTE: 10 Pin MIDI goes from MIDI OUT of Ampero Controller to MIDI IN on Kernom Ridge (thanks TOM!) - I am using only one cable... you can use more, but that would be to chain more MIDI devices together - which is possible, but I have not done that and would not know how (sorry).

(All the specs and documents – none of which I looked at! I may have misspoke in the video and there might not be an app for Windows. Only Android and iOS. You might need to look into that for yourself.)

I wanted the folks like me who might be a little on the analog side to know this is doable. If you are unfamiliar with MIDI, you might want to do a little research – I just watched a couple of MIDI basics vids here on Youtube. I had very little experience. I was confused for example that all the numbers start at 00 and not 01. There are 128 presets (000 to 127). The banks are numbered like that too... 00 is actually your #1 bank. New to me! Only used controllers to trigger virtual instruments, but that was practically plug and play. There was a slight learning curve for me to program the presets on The Ridge, but I overcame it in minutes.
A lot of what I say here in the video applies to most of the MIDI controllers I looked at. I believe many (most?) have the ability to send Program Change (PC). I picked the Ampero because the guys at Kernom confirmed it worked, it was small for my board, and it was one of the most affordable I could find.
One thing I did not mention is that The Ridge has MIDI through, so you can chain it with other MIDI controlled things. It has other features too you can look into.
Thanks for watching. If you have questions, ask. I will try and answer if I am able.
