Transcript: The University of Kentucky Human Development Institute believes in the inclusion of all people with disabilities in all aspects of society. Because of our work and partnerships, Kentuckians with disabilities will soon have access to an adaptive mountain biking trail. University of Kentucky undergraduates across disciplines are transforming systems and spaces through the Universal Design Certificate. Deafblind adolescents are invited to come together for a week each summer to form friendships and learn new life skills. Martial arts instructors are creating inclusive dojos for students with disabilities. HDI houses over 90 projects. The lived experiences of people with disabilities are at the center of all of them.
