IPM Chair on IIM Ranchi IPM program | Interview tips | SAT vs IPMAT | Viraj Varma

This is an exclusive interview With Dr. Virajanand Varma, who is a professor at the prestigious IIM Ranchi and the Chairperson of the Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at the institute. In this session, Parthib and Dr. Viraj talk about the various unique aspects of IPM at IIM Ranchi, including one of the program's most distinguishing features - admission through the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). He explains that IIM Ranchi has consciously reduced the academic load for students, keeping in mind that undergraduate students need time to explore their interests, both academic and creative.

Dr. Viraj also talks in detail about the qualities on which candidates are evaluated during the interview, and confirms that Extra Curricular Activities (often referred to as ECAs) do indeed play a significant part - but you do not need to be a national sports medalist or entrepreneur in order to qualify!

Dr. Viraj also sheds light on how applications through the SAT are compared against applications through IPMAT, when the interviews are expected to begin this year (2022), and whether we can expect the seats of the program to increase any time soon.
