In this episode, Jeremy shares something really unique, as he shares some original artwork and a very rare Disney puppet from Walt Disney's The Gremlins!

Professor Jeremy Patrich, (The Backyard Geographer) welcomes you to another exciting episode from Out of The Collection! He has been diligently cleaning up in his garage and is very excited to share some of the items he is rediscovering from inside his private collection. Being an eclectic collector for most of his life, you just never know what to expect.

Fun Fact: Did you know that while Roald Dahl, the famous author of James and Giant Peach, Matilda and many other stories, and Walt Disney were working together to tell the story of the British airforce lore of the mischievous Gremlins... and even produced artwork, merchandise, and commercials, yet the movie was never made!?

The Gremlins is a book written by Roald Dahl and published in 1943, was Dahl's first book and was written for Walt Disney Productions, in anticipation of a feature-length animated film that was never made. With Dahl's assistance, a series of gremlin characters were developed, and while pre-production had begun, the film project was eventually abandoned, in part because the studio could not establish the precise rights of the "gremlin" story, and in part, because the British Air Ministry was heavily involved in the production because Dahl, who was on leave from his wartime Washington posting, insisted on final approval of script and production
