Travel Restrictions: COVID-19 Updates Hawaiian Airlines
We’re ready to welcome you back on board! As you prepare for your upcoming trip, here’s what you need to know before you travel. In addition to these tips and helpful information, we’re making it easy for you to get state-approved COVID-19 test results.
In September 2020, we eliminated change fees on our Main Cabin and Premium Cabin fares (including award flights) to provide greater flexibility for our guests. Although Main Cabin Basic tickets are not included in our refreshed policy, under our COVID-19 travel waivers listed below, we are able to make changes on tickets. Tickets purchased after the waiver dates will follow our current fare rules and conditions.
Please see details on our COVID-19 travel waivers below. The ticket expiration dates listed indicate when a travel credit needs to be used by.
Main Cabin Basic tickets purchased between May 1 and Aug. 16, 2021 for travel on or before Oct. 31, 2021: Changes can be made without a fee. Please note that a fare difference may apply.
Main Cabin Basic tickets purchased between Aug. 17 and Oct. 31, 2021 for travel on or after Aug. 17, 2021: Changes can be made without a fee. Please note that a fare difference may apply.
Tickets (including award flights) purchased between Jan. 1 and April 30, 2021: No change fees for any changes made before the ticket expires. Any ticket purchased on or after Jan. 1, 2021 is valid for up to one year from the original date of purchase. Please note that a fare difference may apply for each change that is made.
Tickets (including award flights) purchased between March 1 and Dec. 31, 2020: No change fees for any changes made before the ticket expires. Tickets under this waiver are valid for up to two years from the original date of purchase. Please note that a fare difference may apply for each change that is made.
Tickets (including award flights) purchased before March 1, 2020 with travel dates between March 1, 2020 and Feb. 28, 2021: No change fees for rebooked travel that begins on or before May 31, 2022. Please note that a fare difference may apply for each change that is made.
If you’ve purchased your ticket through a travel agency or online travel website, please contact your travel agency for assistance with making any changes to your reservation.

You are now able to bring a 12 oz. bottle of hand sanitizer through the TSA security checkpoint in your carry-on bag.

We recommend packing an empty reusable water bottle to fill after TSA and use on the plane as in-flight beverage service will be less frequent (to reduce contact with flight attendants).
