The waves were huge. Surfers get crunched. The event had already been called-off on a recent day with big waves. This video is part -2 of a multipart series from this day. Although we have most of the event in this collection you will need to visit Surfline to view the complete competition.

The waves were big and gnarly. This location is not known for classic reef point perfection but rather for an unruly and dangerous surf spot. Many of the waves do not provide a clear path for surfers to exit the wave. Walls and unmakeable sections clutter the sets.

This surfing contest is an "invite only" format. Legendary surfers and waterman from around the world that have proven skill and dedication qualify for an invite but spaces are limited.

This webcast includes historical information about Hawaii. It also contains educational information about the region and culture. We are happy to also say that the team of announcers spend some time going through widely accepted surfing etiquette as well.
