12Original NBC Broadcast with Curt Gowdy, Chuck Thompson, Bob Prince and Tony Kubek Raw Network Game Broadcast (no cutaways to commercials, or breaks) Game 7 of the 1971 World Series from Memorial Stadium.
Recorded and Digitalized off a pre-recorded VHS tape ive had in my archives since the late 80s early 90s. And has been recently restored, to the best of my ability as the quality of game 7 isn't the greatest, but the most complete ive seen out there with the unedited broadcast footage.
With the series tied at 3 games each, the deciding game starting pitchers are Steve Blass (1-0) for the Pirates and Mike Cuellar (0-1) for the Orioles, the game is scoreless until the 4th inning when MVP of the '71 Series Roberto Clemente giving Pittsburgh the early lead, and proved to be the game winner as Steve Blass keeps the Orioles scoreless, a 2 hitter through 7 innings. Pirates add a run in the top of the 8th inning on a RBI double from 3B Jose Pagan. Cuellar is replaced by Pat Dobson in 9th a Cuellar pitches a pretty good game himself, going the 8 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 6 and walking none. Roberto Clemente was the star in each game of the 1971 World Series and was a no brainer for the MVP of the 1971 Series with a .414 AVE (12 for 29), with 2 HRs (including the game winner in game 7) with 7 RBIs, and fine defensive play in RF throughout the series. Steve Blass with the complete game win, going the 9 innings giving up just one run on 4 hits while striking out 2 and walking 2. Includes some Post Game celebration and locker room interviews with Pirate telecaster Bob Prince and the MVP announcement and trophy presentation with MLB commissioner Buey Kuen
