Part of the Glasgow City Region Investment Zone, the Maritime Supply Chain Innovation Centre (MSCIC) – led by Malin Group – is one of six ambitious projects. Investment Zone funding will support the MSCIC’s development, including a new heavy-lift quay, contamination remediation, and platforming, all aimed at fostering future investment and the full build-out of SMTP.

The Maritime Supply Chain Innovation Centre (MSCIC) and associated infrastructure will transform a brownfield site in Old Kilpatrick, directly enabling the delivery of the initial phases of development at the Scottish Marine Technology Park (SMTP).

Announced in June 2023, following a joint selection process by the UK and Scottish Governments, Glasgow City Region (GCR)’s Investment Zone is expected to generate around £300 million of initial private sector investment, to support 7,000 – 10,000 jobs, including through the expected Tax Site and to boost key growth sector specialisms of the Region’s innovation economy – specifically the Space, Semiconductor and Maritime sub-sectors of the Advanced Manufacturing sector.
