This is an experiment to approximate the way extract brewers add some of their extract near the end of the boil. This allows you to get more bitterness out of the bittering hops due to the lower density (lower gravity) of the wort as it is boiling the hops.

I based this recipe off a Blind Pig (Russian River) clone and used a lager yeast to make an India Pale Lager.
