Here is our Director of Engineering, Ted Tozzi, to talk about the various Thor Converters offered at Toner Cable Equipment, Inc.

Hello, this is Ted from Toner Cable here to talk about some format converters that we offer. Two of the format converters here are HDMI input based. This particular unit, the HD Pro, is HDMI input, in fact two inputs with a YPBR output or VGA output. The unit also gives you a few audio options, mini break-out cable, SPDIF Optical and mini SPDIF break-out.

The other HDMI box that we have here is an HDMI to SDI, 3G, HD and SDI. You can see here I am using this particular format converter to feed the next product that I’d like to talk about, which is our multi-viewer.

The SDI Multi-viewer, which is a quad, basically has four inputs, two SDI outputs, and an HDMI output. All of the units support 3G/SDI, HD/SDI and SD/SDI including the various SYMPTE formats: SYPMTE-494M, 495M, for HD/SDI SYMPTE-292 and for SD SYMPTE-259M.

The other SDI products that we have here is an SDI Repeater. This is really useful in production scenarios where maybe you are going from live event out to production truck and you need to extend your SDI signal. This particular unit will re-clock and amplify. Same with the SDI Splitter here, which is basically a 1x4 SDI in 4 SDI outputs. Again with a re-clocking and an amplification built-in. The unit also has some LED’s, which will basically auto-sense what input formats are being received, either 3G, HD or SD/SDI.
