Project Mopar: 1967 Dodge Dart GT - K Member Upgrade and Refresh

The K member project. I upgraded from a '67 to a '68 K member for the improved idler arm mounting bracket.

Cars that came with 340 engines had special reinforcements where the control arm studs mount to the K member. I've attempted to recreate this factory feature.

Washers used for the reinforcement: Flat Washer 1" USS Grade 8 "5 Washers" Steel 2-1/2" OD. Available in eBay, Amazon, or most hardware stores.

Again, the worst part about this project is the cleaning. After it was cleaned and de-greased, I used regular muiatic acid, aka swimming pool acid, in a ratio of 50% muiatic acid and 50% water. Fumes are strong, so use in a well ventilated area.

Paint is VHT chasis semi-gloss black, and I wasn't very happy with the results. I prefer using Summit Racing chasis black, but they were out of stock. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SU...
