The Adamma masquerade in Ngwo has its origin in Amon, one of the villages that makes up the ten villages of Ngwo. It was formerly called Okieriegwe before it was changed to Adamma by the people of Akama. The masquerade is used in the entertainment of people during burials and other festive events. It doesn't specifically have any spiritual significance.
