During the 2018 Braemar Gathering Highland Games in the Cairngorms, Scotland, Drum Majors from some of the massed pipe bands competed in a challenge, throwing their mace over the Glenfiddich sponsor banner. Each has three tries to thrown their mace over the banner and hopefully catch it again. The competitors were Ronnie Rennie, Derek Dean and the eventual winner Roland Stuart. The band performing for them were the Royal Scots Association pipes & drums. The prizes of course were aged single malts from Glenfiddich.
