1960s Buddy L "Weekend Camper" Pickup Custom Restoration + Custom 3D Printed Accessories!

Описание к видео 1960s Buddy L "Weekend Camper" Pickup Custom Restoration + Custom 3D Printed Accessories!

Today, we have a fantastic custom restoration for you. This is a 1960s Buddy L Step-Side Pickup. We picked up this truck at one of our local flea markets a few months ago and it was in rough condition. Many of the components were either busted, or completely missing, like the windshield, grill, and suspension. Fortunately, we had a wrecked parts truck, that we were able to salvage some parts off of. The only thing that we did not have a replacement for was the original Buddy L tailgate. This is when we decided that we should add a custom accessory to the truck. We found a 3D model of a canoe on the internet, dusted off our 3D printer, and whipped up two canoes for our Camping Truck.
As mentioned before, this truck has a suspension built into it. Unlike the tonka trucks at the time, these Buddy L trucks used a spring loaded wire that would push down on the front axle. This resulted in the ability to push the front of the car up and down. Now, our truck was missing that component in the beginning, so if you are curious as to what it looks like, check out towards the end of the video for a demonstration.
For the paint on this rig, we wanted to keep it very similar to stock. In our opinion, nothing looks better on an old-school truck than a red body, white roof, and chrome accents. Just check out the Nixshop truck in the beginning of the video!
Make sure to sit back, relax, and join us as we give this toy a second chance!

We also wanted to give a special shoutout to Cerakote for helping out the channel and providing us with some great products. We have been using Cerakote way before we decided to post our restorations on Youtube. They truly have a superb product that works on everything from automotive trim, all the way to the windows on our toys.

Let us know what you all think, should we do more of these Buddy L models on this channel? Maybe some of the more unpopular models? Possibly something other than toys?

Hope you guys enjoyed the video; Please leave a like and subscribe. Give us some ideas for future projects, and with enough support we will continue to make content that you like.

Most Importantly,
With Respect, Honor, and Gratitude... Thank You to all our Veterans and Active Duty Members!
