Locomotives of the Somerset & Dorset Railway - Past and Present

Although the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway closed in 1966, its memory is kept alive by Ivo Peter’s wonderful collection of photographs and cine film featured in a series of books and DVD's about the line.
The Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust (Based at the Watercress Line) owns SDJR 7F 2-8-0 No. 88/53808, Peckett 0-4-0ST "Kilmersdon" and a collection of rolling stock that once ran on the SDJR along with two diesel shunting locomotives.
The Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust is a UK-registered charity which owns the museum and railway at Midsomer Norton railway station.
The impetus for creating this video came from a bag of old negatives rescued from a rubbish skip by a builder friend who kindly gave them to me. I began to scan them into my computer about 10 years ago, Covid has restricted my ability to obtain new video footage, so I revisited these old photos and decided it was time to share them along with video scenes taken at a number of heritage railways featuring S&D locomotives at various gala events over the last 10 years.
At the end of the video I have included a series of black and white photos, the location of which I'm uncertain, although I believe some were taken at Eastleigh, if you recognise or can date any of the locations please leave a comment in the comment section of this video.
