How To Rig The Mule Peg Float

Описание к видео How To Rig The Mule Peg Float

The Mule Peg Float is a great way to present baits vertically for numerous species. This float can be fished as a traditional peg float or as a slip float. In this video, we showcase how to rig it both ways.

Peg Float Steps:
1) Simply remove the peg and thread the line through the float.
2) Set your float to the desired depth and push the peg back in to ensure the float is firmly held in place against the line. You don’t have to push the peg in very tight to secure the float. A light hold will ensure the line stays in good shape and will make float adjustments easier.
3) Tie on a Mule Jig or your desired hook to the tag end. You can also add weights/swivel if you prefer.

Your peg float rig is officially set up and ready to fish. This particular setup is excellent for shallow water fishing, especially in current when you want to present a bait near the bottom without snagging.

Slip Float Steps:
1) This requires a float, a bobber stop, a bead, and your desired hook or jig.
2) Rig up your bobber stop.
3) Slide your bead onto your line to prevent your float from sliding over the stop.
4) Thread the line through the peg portion and out the bottom of the float.
5) Tie on a Mule Jig or your desired hook to the tag end. You can also add weights/swivel if you prefer.

Your slip float is now ready to fish. The beauty of this rig is that you can vertically present baits under a float in all water depths by a simple adjustment of the bobber stop.
