How to Ask Questions in Tagalog (E23)

Описание к видео How to Ask Questions in Tagalog (E23)

This video will explore how to ask questions in Tagalog using Group 1 personal pronouns as the springboard. Using sentence patterns, this video will provide examples on how to construct simple questions. The key thing in forming Tagalog interrogative sentences is understanding the particle “ba”. In its use, it signals that the sentence is in the question form.

This video will also provide sentence patterns on how to respond in the positive or in the negative. Two new Tagalog words are introduced in this video: “oo”, the Tagalog word for “yes” and “hindí” the Tagalog word for “no” and “not”.

Question patterns:
• Under Subject-Predicate structure
o Subject + Particle “ba” + Predicate + ?
• Under Predicate-Subject structure
o Predicate + Particle “ba” + Subject + ?
o Predicate + Subject + Particle “ba” + ?

Response in the Positive
• Under Subject-Predicate structure
o Oo + Pronoun + ay + Predicate
• Under Predicate-Subject structure
o Oo + Predicate + Pronoun

Response in the Negative
• Under Subject-Predicate structure
o Hindí + Pronoun + ay + hindí + Predicate
• Under Predicate-Subject structure
o Hindí + Hindí + Pronoun + Predicate
