What is Simple Present tense?

The simple present tense is used to
To describe facts and habits
I like ice cream.
To describe scheduled events in the future
The Bus arrives at 5’0 clock.
To tell stories
We heard the helicopter overhead. Suddenly, the radio bursts into life

What is the Present Continuous / Present Progressive tense?


The present progressive tense (also called present continuous tense) is the verb form of the present tense that expresses actions happening now, actions that are in progress, or actions that will occur in the near future.

Present Progressive Examples:
I am swimming. (happening now)
I am reading an excellent book. (in progress)

What Is the Present Perfect Tense?
The present perfect tense describes an action that began in the past (despite being a present tense). For example:
John has taken Sarah's advice.
They have fixed the fence.

What is Present Perfect Progressive / Continuous Tense?

The present perfect continuous is formed using has/have + been + present participle. Questions are indicated by inverting the subject and has/have. Negatives are made with not.
Statement: You have been waiting here for two hours.
Question: Have you been waiting here for two hours?
Negative: You have not been waiting here for two hours.
