Fishing for Monster SARATOGA on Lake Borumba QLD | Fly Fishing vs Spin Reel |

We Escape 2 Fish Lake Borumba on the Sunshine Coast roughly 120km northwest of Brisbane. The lake is really a man-made dam which was constructed in 1964 on the Yabba River and is surrounded by mountains and rain forest scenery. The dam is also popular with campers and water-skiers. Lake Borumba has many stocked impoundments of species from Australian bass, golden perch, silver perch, catfish, Mary River cod to some huge Saratoga. This is freshwater fishing at its best. We travel up from Brisbane early in the morning with my mate Stewart who is a fly fisherman and myself being a spin reel fisherman. We are chasing Saratoga, time to see who will out fish who!!
