[현대미술] 파리문화예술기행-도시를 산책하다 Paris Culture & Arts Travel -take a stroll through the city

한 손에 바게트를 들고 파리의 거리를 산책하며 메트로를 타고 다니는 파리문화예술기행을 시작합니다. 파리 메트로의 문을 열면서 19세기에서 21세기까지 휴머니즘의 변천 과정을 문학과 예술의 시선을 따라 스케치하며, 각 역을 통과하는 순서로 목차를 대신하여 여행을 시작하겠습니다.
파리의 메트로는 총 14호선으로 이루어져 파리 시내 전 구역을 누비고 다닙니다. 파리근교에 이어지는 5개의 교외선 RER이 중간에 갈아 탈 수 있게 되어 동서남북의 일드 프랑스(파리교외) 지역으로 연결됩니다. 메트로 1호선은 1900년 파리 만국박람회 개관과 맞추어 개통되었으며, 사람으로 비교하면 120세가 넘는 노인인 셈이죠.
파리의 메트로 통로 내부에서는 오랜 역사의 쿨쿨한 냄새와 군데 군데 쪽이 떨어져 나간 세라믹 조각의 벽 장식을 여기저기에서 볼 수 있습니다. 하지만 오랜 전통과 역사가 깃든 지하철의 굼뜬 소리는 빨리빨리를 외치는 현대생활의 삭막한 정서를 보듬어주는 봄바람과도 같은 향기로운 이야기를 들려주기도 한답니다. 흰 벽에 붙은 초대형 포스터와 패셔너블한 옷차림의 도발적인 파리지엔느의 세련된 모습, 역의 한 구석 벤치에 쓰러져 자고 있는 노숙자 커플, 소매치기를 위해 3인 1조로 벌떼처럼 몰려다니는 집시가족, 무임승차의 얌체족을 색출하는 카키색 니나리치 복장의 검표원들, 영락없이 팝아트의 조각가 듀애인 핸슨Duane Hanson의 작품에서 볼 수 있는 반바지차림의 미국인 노부부관광객의 모습, 양손에 지도를 들고 주위를 두리번거리는 북유럽의 10대에서 50대까지의 다양한 연령층의 배낭족, 북아프리카의 모로코와 알제리인, 아시아인과 히잡을 둘러쓴 이란의 여인 등 다양한 사람을 만날 수 있습니다.
메트로는 파리에 얽힌 교통뿐 아니라 문화 예술적 소통의 체증을 시원하게 뚫어 주기도 합니다.
파리 동쪽에서 서쪽을 가로지는 파리 메트로 1호선은 모두 25개의 역으로 이뤄져 있습니다.
미술과 음악, 무용, 연극, 건축, 영화, 만화의 마이스터들과 대화하며, 현대사회의 핵심적인 언어와 시선에 대하여 살펴보겠습니다, 하지만 때로는 평범한 서민들의 표정과 이야기를 듣고 새로운 사회를 바라보는 안목과 상상력, 유모를 통해 휴머니즘을 확장시키는 계기가 될 수 있을 것입니다.
