In this weeks Find of the Week we look at Luigi Mellara Murano Art Glass Birds and I show you how to identify real Murano glass and some of the techniques used in the making of Murano art glass. These one of a kind pieces are hand blown and accented with color using the aventurine and millefiori technique where colored cut glass canes are broken throughout the molten glass. The standing bird has affixed brass legs and stands about 16" tall by 10" long.
