A quick trail guide to Station 5 via Rocket trail and "Sampah Lorr" (Rubbish Trail or Peace Trail). The trail starts very steep for about 20-30 minutes of non-stop ascent. It is a good practice trail for those training for Bukit Laksamana Hike, which is one of the toughest in Penang. A junction will lead to the "Sampah Lorr" which is relatively flat, skirting around the hill - with lots of obstacles in the form of falling trees and branches. It will start to descend rapidly after about 10-20 minutes of obstacle race to Merdeka Bridge. Then, the final "300 steps" of despair looms before ending at a deserving Station 5. From there, finding the way down should b easy. Enjoy.


DIFFICULTY : moderate (not for beginners)
WHO CAN DO IT : everyone who is hikes regularly

Being a born and bred Penang unker, I thought it would be fun if the narration be spoken in Penang Hokkien which has a mixture of hokkien, english and malay. It has a unique blend and tone but is sadly going kaput soon. Although my hokkien is campur-campur and not pure (hor ee khee), I hope that this video will contribute to the collection of Penang hokkien videos on Youtube and I will try to make more in the future.
