Alaya Sampradayam(Devalaya Aradhana Natyam) - Temple Ritual Dance,
In ancient times, temple dancers(Devadasees) would dance in front of the Rath(chariot), before the start of Rath Yathra on festive occasions and would form pictures of the temple deity’s vahana(vehicle) with footwork on color powder, spread in front of the Rath. These dances were known by the name of  ‘Prenkhini Natyam’.
Acclaimed Kuchipudi exponent Guru.C.R.Acharya conducted extensive research in these temple ritual dances and brought the forgotten art form of Prenkhini Natyam back to the lime light.

Simhanandini
Kuchipudi dance repertoire contains several invaluable temple ritual dances which are rarely performed. In the temple ritual dance,’Simhanandini’ the dancer using her feet, in extreme devotion sketches a lion, the Simhavahanam or the mount of the Mother Goddess Durga, while dancing on a white cloth spread over red colored powder.
