In this video I do a blind test to determine which version of the La2a compressor is best! Analog or Digital? I test a REAL LA-2a VS the LA-2A plugin from universal audio. I listen or the differences in quality and try to determine which is superior. The results are shocking!

The La2a is a classic compressor that has been used on countless recordings. It is known for its smooth, warm sound and its ability to control dynamics without making the sound too harsh. The hardware unit is a great choice for those who want the authentic La2a sound. However, it is also quite expensive.

There are a number of software emulations of the La2a available, such as the free La-2A from universal audio. These are much more affordable than the hardware unit, and they offer a lot of the same features. However, they may not sound quite as authentic as the hardware unit.

In the end, the best way to decide which version of the La2a is right for you is to try them out and see which one you prefer. If you are looking for the authentic La2a sound, these emulations do a pretty good job! Also, the plugins are more versatile and a lot less expensive.
