Contemporary Ismailism Part 2 | Ismaili Studies Conference 2022 Day 3

Welcome to the first-ever conference on Ismaili Studies. After a brief introduction of the Ismaili Special Collections series, this panel, chaired by Laila Halani of the IIS, Zamira Dilborbekova outlines the post-Soviet resurgence of religious identity and practice for Tajik “Pamiri” Ismailis. Fayaz S Alibhai introduces the Ismaili Heritage Project , its inception, goals, and early works. Maryam Razaee delves into the complicated social structure around higher education in Iran and how Ismaili women fit into a more conservative milieu. Finally, Shenila Khoja-Moolji looks at cookbooks as a cultural touchstone for migrating Ismaili communities.
