About the Nigel
The Nigel Touch Overdrive was the first Lounsberry Pedals design. It started out as a hand wired Fish Paper circuit board built into an Altoids box, but every time Greg tried to demonstrate the sound at the local music store the wallets would come out, and people would try to buy them on the spot. Jaws dropped at the amazing touch responsive dynamics that every guitarist strives for. It soon became obvious that it needed to be housed in a rugged stomp box enclosure. The mint box graphic style stayed on as a reminder of humble beginnings.

Nigel is a multi stage FET preamp with gain staging and Germanium diodes that sounds and plays more like a guitar amp than a guitar pedal, and the controls work the same. Two stages of amplification are cascaded to provide a lot of push for the Germanium clipping diodes creating a very responsive overdrive that can go from warm semi-clean to full on classic rock crunch and saturated lead tones. It works well for keyboards too because of it's full range response.

The amazing thing about the Nigel, is that it provides the dynamic touch response of a vintage tube amplifier. It's like a Plexi that fits in your pocket!

About the Amp Rescue
The Amp Rescue was so named after it was demonstrated through a small, solid state amp in a music store in Atlanta. The exclamation was heard, "Wow! It rescues a bad amp!"

It is a gain staged preamp with Germanium diodes. The onset of overdrive is gradual, but it adds compression and 2nd order harmonics and "sparkle". The Amp Rescue pedal acts as an enhanced front end preamp for great sound through any amp, especially amps that lack punch and drive. It chimes in a way you never believed a pedal could, and it has been said to replace the chorus effect in some guitar rigs because of the lively top end.

Like all Lounsberry Pedals it sounds and plays more like a guitar amp than a guitar pedal The controls work the same, and the input is very responsive, ranging from a warm semi-clean to full on classic rock crunch and saturated lead tones.

The Amp Rescue provides a public service for users of "fairly good" equipment and provides the dynamic touch response of a vintage tube amplifier.
